On May 8, the Chairholder and co-researchers were awarded funding to support the research project: “Care Processes for Older Adults Living with a Severe Mental Health Disorder and a Concomitant Major Neurocognitive Disorder in Long-Term Care Homes: A Critical Ethnography”
This funding was made possible by the generosity of the heirs of Ms. Féral and the Fondation de l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal.
The project aims to understand the care processes for older adults with cognitive disorders who are rarely studied, specifically those who also have a severe mental health disorder, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, and who live in a long-term care home. The findings will help optimize their care.
